Wireless – Field Service Technician

SUMMARY:
To support achieving production goals and maintaining workmanship standards consistent with error-free performance. Responsible for internal communication and interaction, facility upkeep and asset management. To perform and/or ensure that work is performed in accordance with customer and job specifications; and all safety and quality guidelines and expectations. Perform termination and grounding of associated cabling, verifying and testing equipment, and completion of all associated paperwork (MOP's, Site Drawings, Floor Plans, Project Trackers, Checklists, Tests, Blueprints, etc.). To conduct thorough site surveys, and perform additions, removals and modifications on working equipment and circuits. Other duties include power transition work, addition and removal of batteries and of circuits on working power distribution sources, as well as equipment testing, turn-up and hot cuts; installation of Cell Site, Central Office, Data Center, Small Cell, DAS, Wi-Fi, Satellite and OSP, Ethernet installation and acceptance, Fiber Splicing Installation with Scope and OTDR acceptance, RF line sweep and PIM testing, site audits and maintenance type items.

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

  • Scheduling, BOM and coordination of materials, expense reports, safety reviews, site audits, completion of close-out packages and on the job training of team members.
  • Safe operation of fleet and equipment: Trucks, Vans, Box-Trucks, Bucket-Trucks, ATV/XUV’s (to include vehicles weighing up to 26,000 pounds); Lifts, etc.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Perform all daily site safety analysis meetings, PPE and equipment inspections and ensure proper use of all safety equipment and adherence to all safety procedures.
  • Perform all work in a timely and efficient manner while observing OEM, customer and company procedures; as well as safety and quality guidelines and expectations at all times.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

 REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of five years related experience.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a team/crew lead role.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Specific visual abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have a valid drivers’ license in the state of residence, and have a safe driving record in accordance with industry standards as a condition of initial and continued employment.
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screening.
  • Must be able to travel out of town to support the needs of the business. (No out of pocket expenses while traveling—we provide lodging and meal per diem).
  • Must be able to work overtime including nights and weekends, upon request.
